Leather is beautiful. Leather is luxurious. There’s nothing like this elegant, natural, upholstery product which has remarkable properties. Leather has character because each hide is unique. Beautiful leather is a pleasure to look at and a joy to use. Luxurious, inviting – leather has a feeling like nothing else. High quality leathers regulate humidity and temperature for year-round comfort. Leather can be kept dust-free which is a real bonus for allergy-sufferers. But to retain these special properties, leather needs special care.
Stage 1
Cleaning
Five-step Cleaning Instructions
1. Remove surface dust and dirt from the leather using a vacuum with a soft Rush attachment.
2. Spray cleaner onto a small area of the leather from a distance of around 10cm.
3. Using the soft sponge clean the moistened area with small, circular movements. Repeat over the rest of the leather rinsing the sponge in clean water during the process.
4. Wipe off any excess cleaning fluid with a soft, clean, dye-free cloth.
5. When leather is thoroughly dry apply Stage 2 – Conditioner.
Stage 2
Conditioning
Five-step Conditioning Instructions
1. Shake bottle well.
2. Spray conditioner sparingly onto a small area of the leather from a distance of around 10cm.
3. Wipe the area evenly using a soft, clean, dye-free cloth.
4. Allow to dry naturally before polishing lightly with a dry cloth. For best results polish when leather is still slightly damp to touch.
5. Conditioner should be applied each time leather is cleaned to restore the beauty, flexibility and rich finish of the leather.
Taking care of your investment is as important as the purchase.
1. Clean and condition your leather regularly. Pay special attention to wear areas such as seats, arm rests and headrests which come in direct contact with skin or hair.
2. Dust your leather furniture weekly to ensure dirt and grit is removed as these can scratch the surface of leather.
3. Do not attempt to clean leather with household cleaners! Never use detergents, soaps, shoe polish, wax, windowcleaner, silicone, saddle soap or any cleaning product not designed specifically for your leather.
4. All leather products will fade over time. Your leather will keep its luxurious look and feel for longer if kept out of direct or indirect sunlight.
5. Do not place your leather furniture close to any source of heating. Heat dries out and damages leather.
6. Keep any sharp or abrasive objects such as shoes, belt buckles, zippers etc. away from leather.
7. Keep newspapers away from light coloured leathers as ink stains are difficult to remove. Seven easy steps to keep your leather products luxurious and beautiful.
Leather Identification
Aniline Leather
This leather is the most natural looking of all leathers. Actual surface
grain and markings are always present and indicate genuine leather
character. These leathers have very little or no protective treatments
applied. Aniline leather provides maximum comfort and is luxurious
to the touch.
Slight colour variance and natural characteristics such
as scars, folds or horn injuries are not quality defects – they are
markers of top quality leather.
Corrected/Buffed Leather
This group of leathers has corrected grain where the top surface
of the hide is buffed, like a sanding process to remove most
imperfections. A new ‘grain pattern’ is then stamped onto the
prepared surface. A uniform colour is achieved through the
application of numerous layers of pigment.
Insect bite Horn marks Healed scar Warts Fat folds
Nubuck Leather
The leathers start as aniline but are then brushed or sanded
to create a velvet-like texture. The brushing opens up the surface
creating the soft texture that also makes it more absorbent and
susceptible to external wear-and-tear than other types of leather.
Nubuck is not to be confused with suede which is the underside
of the hide.
Suede Leather
Suede is aniline leather – the underside of the hide. The surface
is brushed to create a beautiful, soft, absorbent, surface texture.
This treatment, whilst creating a luxurious effect, means it is the
most prone of all leathers to external wear and tear.
Remember!
The leather on our furniture is a natural product and needs special care like any other fine leather items.

WARNING – Before using King-Care Leather Cleaner or Conditioner, shake
container well, pour a small amount of the cleaning fluid onto a clean, dye-free
cloth and pre-test on a small, concealed area of the leather item. Repeat this
process with the King-Care Conditioner. If the leather becomes discoloured
or the leather colour comes off on the cloth using either product – do not
continue. Never rub persistent stains or soak leather. For assistance
